What we research
Our goal is to separate facts from hypotheses, test GEO methods on real data, and build an objective understanding of how AI systems interact with websites and affect business.
- How AI bots interact with websites and their content.
- Which factors influence the visibility of websites and brands in AI Search.
- How AI platforms drive visits and conversions to websites.
- How to measure the technical and economic effectiveness of GEO.
- Which approaches work, and which remain hypotheses.
Research powered by ELNIQ GEO
ELNIQ provides the technology infrastructure for the lab's research.
The ELNIQ GEO platform already makes it possible to analyze:
AI bot activity
visits to a website, crawl frequency and trends, and how different bots behave.
How bots interact with a site
requested URLs, server responses, and page availability to AI bots.
Visits from AI platforms
sources, trends, and behavior of visitors who arrive from AI platforms.
Conversions
goal completions by visitors from AI sources and their contribution to business results.
This allows us to study not only whether brands appear in AI Search, but also how AI systems interact with websites and how that may relate to traffic and conversions.
Research example: AI bots blocked without anyone noticing
A hosting provider's security module blocked AI crawlers from customer websites, while the sites themselves kept working normally. We only discovered it after launching the first version of our AI bot checker in January 2026: AI crawler activity on the affected sites had dropped to zero.
After almost two months of correspondence with the provider's support team, the provider revised its security module and restored access for AI bots across its infrastructure. The case shows how infrastructure decisions can affect GEO and classic SEO, and why it is worth monitoring website accessibility for AI bots.

GEO Lab community
Applications are reviewed manually. Participation terms are still being developed; we will explain the next steps when we reply to your application.
ELNIQ GEO platform
For research projects, we plan special terms for using the platform, including research plans and additional options for working with data. They are separate from GEO Lab membership and will be announced separately.
Who we invite
SEO/GEO specialists, web analysts, digital marketers, and researchers interested in joint experiments, data analysis, and the development of professional methodologies.
Participants will be able to propose their own hypotheses, take part in research, share results, and become co-authors of publications.
Our plans
We plan to create a space for professional discussion, exchange of knowledge and data, joint experiments, and publication of research.
Our long-term goal is to contribute to the formation of technical, economic, and ethical standards for GEO based on verifiable data and open professional discussion.
